A Letter from our President:
Dear WiSET members,
I want to send you all a quick update that this year we
are planning the annual WiSET meeting to be held in
Milwaukee, WI in late October, on a Friday. We do not
have an official location or date yet, but Peggy O'Neill
has volunteered to host the meeting for us. - Thank You
Peggy! We will keep you all updated once a date and
facility location for the meeting have been confirmed.

Dear WiSET members,
I want to send you all a quick update that this year we

Hi WiSET members,
I hope you are all having a Great New Year! To keep you
all posted we received the surveys back which were sent
out this past November and we have tabulated the
results. Of the 150 plus contacts we have, 35 returned
completed surveys. The tabulated results are now on our
website for you all to review; www.wiset.org.
Second, we WiSET Officers gained valuable information
from each of you who completed the surveys. For one
we decided to keep the meeting in its current October
time. We also learned that most people prefer to leave
the meeting date as is on a Friday. We are currently
looking into setting a date and site for the 2011 annual
WiSET meeting this fall. So overall there will be no
monumental changes. We will use email as our main
form of communication and eliminate mail after this
year. Eliminating mailings will save on time and society
money.
In closing, I thank all of you who completed the surveys.
I hope these survey results can help inform us all when
voting at meetings and help guide future officers in their
decision making processes. Also note, we will be
sending out membership due reminders for 2011 in the
next 1-2 months.

Letter from WiSET Secretary:
On October 15, 2010 WiSET an officers meeting was held. In
attendance were President Keith Morgan, President elect Alicia
Weiske, Secretary Mary A. Hughes, Treasurer Barb Ross was
available by phone if needed.
MEMBER SURVERY UPCOMING: Our President, Keith Morgan,
will be e-mailing all active and non-active members in the next few
months a SURVEY. It is CRUCIAL to the success and continuation of
our society that you complete this SURVEY and return it as soon as
possible.
We will also be having a follow-up business meeting in the next few
months. ALL WiSET active and non-active members will be invited.
If you want your VOTE to be counted when you are at this next
meeting , you need to be an active member. Dues can be collected at
the time of this meeting for 2010 Membership. A date for this
meeting will be given at a later date.
Our WiSET goal for 2011 is to take a step in the right direction to "
turn the epoch " to keep our society going. All of your help in doing
this will greatly be appreciated. Watch for the SURVEY to come in
the next few weeks…..

Letter from WiSET President:
Dear WiSET Members (active and non-active),
As WiSET President I am disappointed to announce that this year’s
annual WiSET meeting scheduled for October 15 in La Crosse is
going to be cancelled due to a lack of pre-registrations. Our
minimum goal to get at least 20 members to attend did not occur.
To reiterate from my previous email it would not be financially
responsible for members, speakers, vendors and the hosting site
employees to attend a meeting with such a low turnout.
For those of you who have pre-registered your checks have not and
will not be cashed. Your checks will be shredded by Barb Ross, our
society’s treasurer, in one week. If you prefer a voided check mailed
back to you please email Barb by next Monday, October 4th at
baross@gundluth.org.
Going forward the fellow officers and I will evaluate the
circumstances the society is in. We will try to establish reasons for
the lack of meeting attendance as well as lack of active
memberships. We will be emailing out a WiSET member survey
over the next few weeks to help gauge the interest of both active
and non-active members.
Currently we do not have another date scheduled for a meeting, we
are unsure if one will occur within the next few months. If it does
not occur we will attempt to plan for the 2011 annual meeting. I will
try to keep all members updated on the progress our society makes
through email. Please continue to look for updates on our website:
www.WiSET.org as well as on Facebook.
In closing thanks to all of you who have tried to make this meeting
occur, which includes Marie Perret and the Gunderson Lutheran
staff, scheduled speakers, fellow WiSET officers, ENDT vendors and
those of you did pre-register. Hopefully the lack of interest is a
“wake up call” to us all and we will become a stronger society
because of this.
